In May 1997 Timotheos Karmiris (called Timo for short) founded the diving base. For the season of 1997 everything was bought new, from the compressors to the diving goggles, so that the divers can use first-class material.
The 12m long and 4m wide diving boat is the pride and joy of the base. It is licensed for 40 persons. But the diving base only allows 24 divers at most, so that comfort is ensured on the boat. It is equipped with 30 scuba tank supports, a diving platform with two ladders, sufficient space for the boxes, a cabin for things which must not get wet, a toilet and 500 l fresh water. The safety equipment consists of satellite broadcasting, first aid box, oxygen, life raft and life belts.
The diving base is located directly on the beach of Limni Keriou. It consists of a compressor and an equipment room.
An extra room is provided with boxes and suspension possibilities for the equipment of the divers.
Two sinks are installed in front of this room, one for demand regulators, computers etc. and the other one for wet suits, jackets etc. A rack for draining the clothes after rinsing is also available.
Under a canopy, you will find sufficient tables and chairs for 30 persons, so that you will always have a place to write your logbook and have a chat.
Safety in the diving base is of great importance.
When checking in, a certificate of diving fitness, brevet and logbook must be presented. A check dive will be realized.
In 2003 a new, extremely quiet and powerful compressor was purchased. Every year a large part of the equipment is replaced.
